Statement after riots with updates and guidance
The violence and hate in Hartlepool and across parts of our region in recent days has shocked and saddened us.
We stand in solidarity with the communities affected. We stand to support those individuals and families who are the victims of hate. We offer our support to the community groups and charities who will continue their work and will start the necessary work of rebuilding lives and communities. We will do all we can to support this work.
Small grant available towards immediate support
Hartlepower Community Trust have generously been offered a small grant from Point North (formerly the County Durham Community Foundation), to distribute funds to local people to help with recovery, safety measures and meet other needs.
Please help us by identifying people we can support. We can get money out quickly to those who would benefit, some of the examples already being; transport to ease safety fears, repairs to a vehicle and personal safety items (not exhaustive). To apply or refer please contact us via: julisimons@hartlepower.co.uk
Point North have also released a fundraising site, with which they hope to raise further money for communities to deal with the immediate and in the future. Find out more, donate and share here https://point-north-tees-valley.raiselysite.com/
